What is a Roman Blind?
Roman blinds are panels of fabric hung from a top rail featuring horizontal folds or battens with cords attached to the rear. When the cord control is pulled down, the roman blind is lifted and folds neatly based on the folds. It can be released and lowered by swinging the cord to the side and allowing the cord to be pulled back through to lower the blind. There is also a chain control option for simpler operation which also results in a neater installation.

Roman Blind Fabric Types
Yes Blinds custom-made roman blinds are available in three types of fabrics: Blockout, Light Filtering, and Sunscreen. Blockout provides maximum privacy and light control as blockout fabrics are able to prevent all light from passing through. Light filtering fabrics are translucent — they allow light to pass through but still retains privacy, similar to frosted glass. Sunscreen fabrics have a more open weave and usually PVC-coated threads that withstand the harshest light and allow a relatively clear view through the fabric. Darker sunscreen fabrics allow a clearer view through whereas a lighter fabric will be harder to see through. All roman blind fabrics come in a variety of colours including white, gray, black, brown, and more. You can also choose to have double fabrics for your roman blinds at a minimal cost.
Roman Blind Styles
Classic Roman Blind
Yes Blinds Classic Roman Blinds feature a small sewn pocket the width of the blind with slim fibreglass rods inserted and then loops are then clipped on the pockets and cords run through. Due to the needle holes created during the creation of the pockets, light passing through these holes is unavoidable with classic roman blinds.
Sewless Roman Blinds
The Yes Blinds Sewless Roman Blind features an aluminium extrusion along the back of the blind with the fabric tucked and a spline inserted to hold it in place. PVC rings are attached to the back of the blind with the cords run through. The sewless design of this roman blinds eliminates the needle hole light that is visible on Classic Roman Blinds.
Plantation Roman Blinds
The Yes Blinds Plantation Roman Blind replaces the tuck lines with timber battens available in multiple stained and painted colours. The profile of the front batten is rounded while the rear batten is square allowing for attachment of metal eyelets for the control cords to pass through. To complete the look, a 50mm timber pelmet is attached to the and matched in colour to the timber battens. With no sewing, the light holes from needle holes is not an issue.
